Josh Boyd

VP OF SOFTWARE AND INFRASTRUCTURE FOR DTG, BOOZ ALLEN HAMILTON

Josh Boyd is a senior software and infrastructure engineering leader in Booz Allen’s Defense Technology Group, focused on transforming how organizations build, secure, and deliver mission-critical technology in an AI-first world.

His work focuses on bringing together agentic engineering, secure software factories, trusted cloud environments, and evidence-based assurance to fundamentally rethink how engineering teams operate. He is particularly interested in moving beyond AI-assisted development toward increasingly autonomous engineering systems that can design, build, test, secure, deploy, and operate software with greater speed and scale, while maintaining the trust and rigor required for complex defense environments.

Josh leads initiatives spanning cloud and platform engineering, DevSecOps, AI-enabled software delivery, and engineering transformation. This includes developing reusable engineering capabilities, establishing common standards and practices, and helping teams adopt new ways of working alongside AI agents across programs and mission environments.

As a technical executive, he combines strategic leadership with hands-on technical engagement, shaping the platforms, practices, and talent needed for the next generation of software delivery. His focus is on shifting human effort toward mission understanding, architecture, evaluation, and judgment, enabling engineers to deliver more mission capability while maintaining high standards for security, resilience, and operational reliability.
